Kim L, one of their guests has this to say about their experience dining here: “Super fun eating experience! I tried a boodle flight in Toronto before, so I had an idea what to expect. The servers are super welcoming, and do a great job of creating a home-feel. For the boodle flight, you should make reservations ahead of time via phone. Once you arrive, they start placing the food in front of you immediately. Not only is the food place right on banana leaves, but you eat only with your hands! (They give you gloves). This literal hands-on experience was super fun to do. Some might see it as barbaric, but once you use to it, it’s quite enjoyable. Piled on top of the rice (which btw, is unlimited!), the food includes squid, fish, skewers, fried chicken, eggplant, corn, and zucchini, just to name a few. The skewers were my favourite. They also give you a handful of refreshing cucumbers, tomatoes and mangos. I recommend eating this at the end of your meal, to refresh your palate and cut the grease and oil of all the meat. Overall such a fun experience to do, especially with a group. My group had 6 people, and it was plenty of food – even some left over. Total was about $25 per person! Would definitely go again. Memorable experience!

I also had the fried pork (pata) – delicious! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside – an explosion of joy for the pork lover as it enters your mouth. And let’s not forget the underdog – taro leaves in a coconut sauce! This dish may not be the most appealing looks-wise, but it was a great vegetable side. We also ended with the Buko Pandan, a coconut flavored dessert for fans of boba/bubble tea. Max’s has a big parking lot and a large indoor dining space, so finding room should not be a problem for families or groups. The only problem? We don’t live close enough to go every day!”

Here’s what Matthew Bruce thought about the food served by the supplier: “Wow! What a hidden gem! Never tried food from the Philippines before but I really enjoyed it. I recommend the “Okoy” if you wanna try something new but familiar. Tastes like fish n’chips but seems like it’s mostly vegetables inside. Really great. The BBQ is good too. Great price as well! Can’t recommend it enough.”
